Governor Willie Obiano has continued to receive great support from well meaning citizens of the state who believe that his accomplishments in office would guarantee his reelection.
Speaking to the press in Awka on the issue, the president general of the Ogbunike progressive union, comrade Godwin Ibekwe said the Ogbunike community has agreed to support governor Obiano in his second tenure aspiration.
According to comrade Ibekwe, the governor’s wife whose paternal origin is Ogbunike has conveyed her husband’s reelection aspiration which should be given every support.
The president general asked all governorship aspirants in the state to wait till governor Obiano completes his second tenure in office given his great accomplishments which need not be interrupted.
On his part, the principal of Igwebuike Grammar school Awka, Dr. Raphael Anaekeokwu spoke of governor Obiano’s achievements in office which are great indicators that a winning team needs not to be changed.
Dr. Anaekeokwu made reference to his recent distribution of textbooks to all schools in the state aimed at promoting the reading culture in the educational institutions.
Contributing, the Ezeigbo Adamawa, Eze Solomon Ebisi from Enugukwu conveyed the support of Igbos in Adamawa for the second term reelection of governor Obiano.
Reacting on the issue, the member representing Ayamelum constituency in the state house of Assembly Mr. Uche Okafor stressed that governor Obiano has proved beyond all reasonable doubts through his developmental accomplishments in the areas of payment of workers salaries as at when due, agricultural revolution, attracting investors to the state, among other indices of development that he deserves a second tenure in office.
In a related development, the state president of Ohanaeze ndigbo Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene who maintained a non partisan posture on the issue of second tenure said the apex organization stands for the rule of law to be obeyed in all electoral matters.
He however okayed governor Obiano’s
grassroots development which manifested in giving all communities in the state 20 million naira each for development a gesture he noted was aptly approved for all communities for the year 2017
