President of Guinea Alpha CondΓ© has requested that all Muslims in his country pray for President Muhammadu Buhari for 24 hours
- CondΓ© expressed concern for his Nigerian counterpart’s health who has been away since May 7
Guinean President Alpha CondΓ© on Thursday, July 20, urged all Muslims in his country to hold a 24-hour prayer for Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday July 21.
CondΓ© gave this order while addressing the country’s Council of Ministers in a meeting.
It was gathered that the Guinean President expressed concern for his Nigerian counterpart’s health and after the meeting he declared that Friday be devoted to prayers for Buhari’s quick recovery.
Sahara Reporters citing an online platform, www.guineenews.org, reports that CondΓ© told his ministers that Buhari was expected to visit Nigeria in March but was unable to do so because of his health.
The Guinean President thereafter asked that prayers be held in all mosques in the country in what he described as a day of prayers for Buhari.
Statistics have shown that 85 per cent of the Guinean population (11 million) are Muslims; eight per cent are Christians; while seven percent are traditionalists.
Buhari has been in London since May 7, 2017, two months after returning from a 49-day medical trip in the same destination.
He returned to the country again for medical treatment.
