USA missing in action as Nigeria's environment minister attends UN international environmental conference
The United Nations International Conference on Combating Sand and Dust storms is underway in Tehran, Iran

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has taken the lead in combating climate change issues in the absence of Muhammadu Buhari, as the USA pulled out of the Paris Agreement.
Ibrahim Usman Jibril, Nigeria’s minister of state for the environment, arrived in Tehran, the Iranian capital, Sunday July 2, to attend the United Nations International Conference on Combating Sand and Dust storms.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of the Environment, via its twitter handle, @FMEnvng.

The conference is scheduled to run from July 3-5.
The Paris Climate Agreement was ratified by President Muhammadu Buhari even as US president Donald Trump pulled his country out of the agreement
Buhari said this as he addressed the opening of the meeting on Taking Climate Action for Sustainable Development in New York, co-hosted by Nigeria and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
