Senate denies alleged plans by Saraki, oil cabals to cripple Osinbajo’s government with fuel crisis

Nigerian Senate denied allegations that the Senate president is planning to sabotage the government
- There was allegation by an online news journal that Senate president, Bukola Saraki, along with oil cabals are planning to create oil crises
The Nigerian Senate has denied allegations by Sahara Reporters that Senate president, Bukola Saraki, and oil marketers are planning to create massive oil scarcity.
According to the disturbing allegations, the Senate president has planned with oil marketers to stop supplying oil in order to create oil scarcity that will destabilize the government under Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
The Senate, however, referred to the allegation as "pure and unadulterated fake news."
The Senate in a series of tweets on Wednesday, July 5 said: "This tweet from @SaharaReporters is pure and unadulterated fake news.
"The Senate President has worked hard to revive the economy and create opportunities for all Nigerians through the legislature.
"The Senate President would never cause such harm to the nation or the Nigerian people. Hence, this story has no iota of truth."
He raised a motion that the country had no president or acting president at the moment, adding that, President Muhammadu Buhari and Professor Yemi Osinbajo were neither in the country, as at the time.
This was however countered through order 53 rule 4 of the Senate standing rules, by Senator Kabiru Marafa representing Zamfara Central.
